Safer Internet Armenia Participates in 5th EuroDIG in Stockholm

June 15, 2012. Safer Internet Armenia participated in the 5th European Dialog of Internet Governance on 14-15 June 2012 in Stockholm. The workshop 'Child Protection and Child Empowerment: Two Sides of the Same Coin' presented a panel discussion featuring 5 panelists, including 2 young people. Each panelist discussed their views on the direction they see the Internet is moving when it comes to the variety of issues that impact young people’s use of the Internet. Narine Khachatryan made a presentation during the Workshop 'Do We Need Net Neutrality Regulation in Europe'. INSAFE 1st International conference 'Promoting Internet Safety Globally: Connecting Generations

14, 15, 16 May 2012. Narine Khachatryan from Media Education Center participated in the INSAFE 1st International conference 'Promoting Internet Safety Globally: Connecting Generations held between May 14 and 16, 2012 in Larnaca, Cyprus. Over 15 000 Children Take Part in Safer Internet Armenia 2012

70 per cent of Armenia’s secondary schools hosted Safer Internet Open Classes in February - March this year. This wide-scale action was based on the new model of Open Lessons on Internet Safety, developed by the Media Education Center in frames of the Safer Internet Armenia 2012. Safer Internet Project Extends its Scope to Armenian Regions

February 23, 2012. More than 10 000 schoolchildren took part in open classes on Internet Safety hosted by more than 500 schools in Armenian regions. Open classes on Internet safety are organized in frames of the large-scale Safer Internet Armenia 2012 project launched a month ago by Internet Society of Armenia, Media Education Center through support of Orange Armenia. Over the past month over 300 school teachers have already been trained in the principles of Internet safety with over 6000 schoolchildren (instead of the initially projected 5000) having participated in open classes. Best Open Lesson and Best Video Clip Contest announced

In frames of Safer Internet 2012 project Media Education Center and Internet Society of Armenia announce a Best Open Class and Best Video Clip contest among secondary schools in Yerevan and regions.  Orange Armenia, the National Center for Educational Technologies  provide technical and infromation support to the initiative.

   

 

Armenia Celebrates Safer Internet Day

February 7, 2012 On the Safer Internet Day on February 07 Simultaneous Open Classes on Internet Safety passed in Armenian 200 secondary schools.  In frames of the month-long Safer Internet 2012 project numerous events are organized in different parts of the country by  Media Education Center, Internet Society of ArmeniaOrange Armenia in partnership with Yerevan City Municipality, National Center of Educational Technologies of the Ministry of Education and Science. Orange Supports Safer Internet Day with Concrete Initiatives in Armenia

February 7, 2012 On the occasion of the Safe Internet Day,   Orange Armenia joined Safe Internet Commitee for Safer Internet Armenia 2012, a large scale project, aimed at providing safe internet environment.  Within the framework of one month project, around 300 teachers of secondary schools are trained on the principles of internet safety, and more than 5000 schoolchildren and students of pedagogical universities take part in open lessons on this topics. Read more...
