Safer Internet Armenia Participates in 5th EuroDIG in Stockholm
June 15, 2012. Safer Internet Armenia participated in the 5th European Dialog of Internet
Governance on 14-15 June 2012 in Stockholm. The workshop 'Child Protection and Child Empowerment: Two Sides of the Same Coin' presented a panel discussion featuring 5 panelists, including 2 young people. Each panelist discussed their views on the direction they see the Internet is moving when it comes to the variety of issues that impact young people’s use of the Internet. INSAFE 1st International conference 'Promoting Internet Safety Globally: Connecting Generations
14, 15, 16 May 2012, Narine Khachatryan from the Media Education Center participated in the INSafe 1st International Conference, “Promoting
Internet Safety Globally: Connecting Generations,” held from May 14 to 16, 2012, in Larnaca, Cyprus.Ms. Khachatryan presented child online protection projects and initiatives implemented by the Media Education Center in Yerevan and other regions of Armenia since 2009.
Internet Safety Open Class and Best Video Clip Contest
Around 100 entries have been submitted to the Best Video Clip and Open Class competitions, organized as part of the Safer Internet Armenia 2012 project. The contest is led by the Media Education Center and the Internet Society of Armenia, with the support of Orange Armenia.

Children Take Part in Safer Internet Armenia 2012
70 percent of Armenia’s secondary schools hosted Safer Internet Open Classes in February–March this year. This large-scale initiative was based on a new model of Open Lessons on Internet Safety, developed by the Media Education Center as part of the Safer Internet Armenia 2012 project. In total, over 15,000 children participated in these activities through open lessons held across 800 schools, including both the capital and regional areas. Read more
Safer Internet Project Extends its Scope to Armenian Regions
February 23, 2012, More than 10,000 schoolchildren took part in open classes on internet safety hosted by over 500 schools in Armenia’s regions. These open classes were organized within the framework of the large-scale Safer Internet Armenia 2012 project, launched one month ago by the Media Education Center and Internet Society of Armenia, with the support of Orange Armenia. Over the past month, more than 300 school teachers have been trained in the principles of internet safety, while over 6,000 schoolchildren—exceeding the initially projected 5,000—have participated in open classes.

Best Open Lesson and Best Video Clip Contest announced
Within the framework of the Safer Internet Armenia 2012 project, the Media Education Center and the Internet Society of Armenia announce Best Open Class and Best Video Clip contests for secondary schools in Yerevan and the regions. Orange Armenia and the National Center for Educational Technologies are providing technical and informational support for the initiative.

Orange Supports Safer Internet Day with Concrete Initiatives in Armenia
February 7, 2012 To mark Safer Internet Day, Orange Armenia joined the Safer Internet Committee in implementing Safer Internet Armenia 2012, a large-scale initiative aimed at promoting a safer online environment in the country.Over the course of the one-month project, approximately 300 secondary school teachers received training on internet safety principles, while more than 5,000 schoolchildren and pedagogical university students participated in open lessons dedicated to responsible and secure internet use.
